Greg was a designer and job captain at BDE when he was involved with this apartment building in San Jose. He worked along side the principals to sketch early design concepts and later generate the graphics for the entitlements. Work also included heavy involvement with the first round of construction documents, including the integration of the adjacent historic Jose Theatre. The project was subsequently revised to reduce the height by one story and to change the proposed function of the theatre from housing to a restoration project, which ultimately became the vaunted Jose Theatre. |

While a project manager and designer at BDE, Greg was one of two staff involved with the design, entitlements, and construction documents for this housing project for farm workers just south of Half Moon Bay in California. The site consisted of individual "farmhouses" anchored by a large, barn-like community building. The image above is of the custom designed wood trellis that captures once edge of the small courtyard just outside the community building. Greg generated a detailed set of assembly drawings and some of the office's first 3d CAD drawings to help the contractor visualize and construct this deceptively complex structure. |
